ADVICE: Should I empty the hot water tank whilst away?

Just started using a water heater. Bearing in mind the amount of limescale in water here is high, is it wise to empty the tank when going away for longer period to prevent too much build up?

Do NOT empty it this won't realy prevent scaling and could cause several problems.
