It appears to be every three months on our statement (Hydraqua is the water company we use). The last two bills were €46 but we have no pool and no automatic garden watering which would make a big difference. We are in Spain for 3 separate months each year and it's mostly just the 2 of us with washing machine and showers but no dishwasher.

Generally Utility bills do not tend to be much higher for living all year round (unless there are extras like pools/ watering system/electric heating in Winter (heating is necessary!) Air-con etc) as the standing charges are what makes up most of the bills.

Hope this helps.

PS. Good idea to check that you have been given keys to your utility boxes (water and Electric) which are outside the property and if not ask your solicitor to arrange with the utility company to get you some, as all boxes were locked when the houses were built. Some people lose keys and don't replace them and then the access boxes (for the companies to check your meter) are left open and this can cause problems like theft of meters and tampering with the meters which could be costly to you in the future. Assuming you will be doing a check on the property before moving in, you could look then to see if the utility box doors outside your property are locked....just a tip!
