Electrical Protection - Iberdrola

Electrical Protection - Iberdrola

Postby white_hart » Fri Jan 27, 2017 9:52 pm

Hi

I have an entry on my bill for "Proteccion Electrica Hogar", or "Home Electrical Protection", for around €6 per month.

Reading the Ts & Cs, it looks to me like it's probably not worth it for us, as it doesn't cover air conditioning units, and our water heater, oven and possibly our fridge are over 10 years old...

Looks like I can cancel it...but my Spanish probably isn't good enough to ring them (unless they have English speaking operators!). Does anyone know whether I can cancel it by email, or does it need to be a call to them?

Alternatively...has anyone ever claimed on the service, and is it worth it?!

Thanks!

There are some English speakers in the Iberdrola office in Guardamar.

We called into the office yesterday and got a deal for the next 12 months
This was included free for the 1st 2 and then as you say around 6 euros per month which is cancellable
I think all you have to do is call in or go on line

Just give them a call and cancel, on my bill it had a number and got you through to an English speaking operator and she cancelled it.

Thanks all! Doesn't seem like there are to many out there who think it's worth the extra!

We changed our provider last August leaving Iberdrola. For a couple of months following we were still being charged for this Protection. Two weeks of constantly calling, them answering, them saying they would put us through to their cancellation team and then cutting us off - so frustrating!!! Then Bingo we finally got through to the cancellation team and asked what the protection insurance actually covered. We were told it covered things redundancy, sickness, accident etc and would cover the cost in case we couldn't work and does not cover electrical problems as we were led to believe initially. We cancelled the policy there and then as it was of no use to us (we are retired) and promptly followed it up with an email. Guess what, two months later we were still being charged. We have since cancelled the payment directly with our our bank, so far, so good, no more charges but we won't hold our breath!

Hi. I'd have thought that as the payment is incorporated into the Iberdrola bill that you wouldn't be being charged separately for it. Shocking!
