Hi if you can get under the house it may not always have to be visible just like the plumbing in Spain it can be hidden in the walls depending on your villa I will dig out he chaps email who did ours a fantastic job no visible pipes way better than gas natural that our frinds had and a very efficient system.

If it's Butane/Propane that you'll be using then you should install a mains powered gas detector, that detects Butane/Propane, in your underbuild area. Bottled gas is heavier than air, so any leaking gas will accumulate in your underbuild and a spark (from a light switch for example) could launch your property into orbit.
If you're using mains (Natural) gas then its lighter than air and tends to disperse easier as a result.
Pete.

Thanks Pete. We are thinking of natural gas if it's possible for our house, if not it will be a pellet burner!

Does anyone know how I can find out if natural gas has been run to the street we are buying in? I know it's not in the house as they are using bottles. I have asked around when we have visited today but no one seems to know, or though some thinks it's not. Is there a contact number to confirm this? Question 2 if it's in the street ( Ave.Gijon) how much to have it run into the property?

I can't believe that anyone with properties in this area are even thinking of having Central heating. The heat loss must be phenomenal! The euros will be coming out of the walls at a rate of knots .
Most of these houses are built for the Summer heat with ventilated bricks, single glaze windows and no insulation.
I would be so pleased if someone next door to my holiday home had central heating installed as I may go there in Winter and take advantage of the heat seeping through the walls.
Don't get me wrong I think central heating is a wonderful thought, as the houses are very cold in Winter (around January to March), but I would be worried about the cost of the bills without the houses being insulated and double glazed.
Just a thought.
