Help! ..and advice on electric consumption please

We live permanently in Spain, our supplier is Fenie Energía and we are on the variable dual metering system, which have times .........
Winter. Off Peak. (P2). 10pm ——- Midday
Peak. (P1) Midday ———10pm
We use the heavy users of electricity in the mornings, washing machine, dishwasher, pool pump, tumble dryer. We use the air con in the lounge in both periods. Fridges running costs are negligible, not worth switching them off!
My last bill for October for 29 days was 88,11€ [Not very cold month]

P1. 181kWh. 27,06€
P2. 319kWh. 24,11€
Total use/cost 51,17€
Interesting the bill comes to 88,11€ so the extras including IVA comes to 37€.
I keep a basic record of costs on a daily basis by dividing the Total bill by the number of days the bill covers.
88,11€ divided by 29 days =. 3.03€ per day.

Brilliant info all, thanks

Last bill told me we used 416 KWH in 35 days, we were in the house for 7 of those but no heavy usage (cook mainly on gas, log burner for heat etc) - prob biggest usage would be kettle and water heater - now all turned off

I'm being estimated (empty house) at €105 for the next one

Looks like standing charge is about €35, about €9 service charge which means about €60 power usage (once tax etc deducted)

€60 for 2 brand new fridges and a pool pump seems extortionate!

Is there an alternative? Can I switch? Or any other ways to save?

I've downloaded the app but it sees the daily graphs won't load, can't get any more info than online

Thanks again all!

Having had a large bill last month I decided to spend time doing some of the aforementioned calculations, downloading spreadsheets from Iberdrola online (which has not been easy to get set up) and going into the office to change our tariff to a more cost effective method
Just reviewed the first live results resulting in what I estimate to be an increased use during our cheaper rates and a reduction in costs of over 50%.
Managed to drop our overall costs from over 7 euros a day to marginally over 3 euros a day. Should drop further as we have had visitors for the last week so would expect usage to drop even further. We have been using our air con units for heating during this period for a couple of hours in a morning and from 6 to midnight. Warm as toast!! Hope this helps.

That does seem a lot if you were only there 7 days. We live here permanently and everything is electric, no gas or oil. Heating is via the aircon (as was cooling in the Summer) plus electric cooker used daily, hot water, washing machine and all the other paraphernalia you would expect. Not even on day/night tariff.
We used 444Kw in 62 days and the bill for those two months was €145.64 or 73 euro (ish) per month.
We don't have a pool as the community has 5 to choose from.
It tells me that €68.33 is for electricity used and €77.31 is for taxes, charges and rental etc.

emwood is right about the taxes...and standing charges.

My latest bill was:
Capacity invoiced: 5.75kw X 30 days X 0.115187€/kw/day (€19.87) - standing charge
Energy used P1 (Peak): 19kwh @ 0.142776€/kwh - €2.71
Energy used V1 (Off Peak): 41kwh @ 0.060709€/kwh - €2.49
Electricity tax - €1.28
Rental of metering equipment - €0.80

And then IVA on top...so only €6.20 was for actual electricity used!!!

No it isn't. Adding all taxes, cost of electricity, metering charges and so on then Ireland, Germany and Denmark (to name just three) are more expensive and it's only slightly higher than UK.
With all charges, Spain is 23.09 cents per Kwh. Denmark is 30.68 cents. UK is 21.02 cents.
Just to keep the record straight, you understand.

Hi, Andrew could you tell me what tariff you changed to and if you have a smart meter. We were recently changed to a smart meter and were told that the day/night tariff that we had previously was no longer an option.....Our bills seem to have doubled.....

Sharon, we do have a smart meter yes and seemed to be able to go onto the tariff of our choice. Having analysed our usage by downloading the spreadsheet which shows historical usage hour by hour (a rather laborius task!) it looked as though the most cost effective for us was the 8 hour option. They have changed recently changed to allow you to mix up your usage hours a bit (used to be only 4 + 4 I understand) so we went for 2 in a morning and 6 at night. We were paying 13 cents per kWh and now we are down to 6 on the 8 we chose and 16 when we are not. You can they say change tariff at any time so you are at least not tied to it for any length of time and we will re-visit it when the spring arrives and look again. Hope this helps - if you need any other info just let me know. A
