How to Bleed a Spanish Central Heating Radiator
How to Bleed a Spanish Central Heating Radiator
by Beauly » Sun Dec 03, 2017 8:48 pm
Hi all
Have had gas central heating recently installed. Need to bleed a radiator. Not same as in UK. Please see pic below. Installers have just said it is a sealed system and should not need bleeding to let the air out.
Do you remove the white plastic cover or turn the white plastic knob round. You can see the outlet for air to get out

Why not get the installers back in to do it for you, that way they can't say that if you have tampered with it, it invalidates your warranty.

I’d agree that you should go back to the installers.
You most likely have a pressurised system that will need topping-up with water when you bleed the radiators. This could be an automatic process, or may need you to open a valve to allow mains pressure cold water into the system, whilst checking the pressure gauge on the boiler.
Pete.

In principle it is the same system as british plumbing: you call them out and they charge you more than a private surgeon per hour for bleeding air!

Hi looks like you just turn the knob anti clockwise, when they say it is a sealed system they will mean presurised so when you bleed the pressure drops and if it drops too low it will not work and may need topping up.

Many thanks for all your replies. Our lawyers had to force the installers to complete the final part of our installation. As I see it, pretty much a bunch of crooks. They have also refused to complete all pipe laying, although we had to pay them in full with the final installment. They also did this on 2 other customers, the very same scenario, but we only found this out afterwards.
This is why in their reply to me that the air would dusappear itself - don’t think I am that stupid.
So if anyone does know how to bleed the radiator with this type of release valve, please let me know.
Thank you Scubydoo for your suggestion.

All you need to do is turn that white knob anti-clockwise whilst your radiaters are turned on.
You will hear the air escaping. When it starts to spit water out just close it again & do all the
others in the house. No problems & dead easy.
