Natural gas

Natural gas

Postby mickru » Thu Feb 09, 2017 10:38 am

Hi there can anyone tell us how much the standing charges are for natural piped gas? We are thinking of buying a 3 bed villa which has radiators and boiler supplying hot water from natural gas is it cheaper or more expensive than heating etc with electricity?

One of our recent gas bills shows gas consumption charged at 27.07 euros.
The 'add-ons' brought the bill to 33.71 euros then IVA added bumped it to 48.48 euros.
I find piped natural gas to be much, much cheaper than electricity.

I second that. Gas is cheaper and radiators far more pleasant than noisy, dust blowing inverter units. Also duel fuel will save a few more euros. If you have a pool the average pump uses around 1kw an hour. So also Go for off peak electricity (usually 01:00 - 08:59) and run the pool pump at night for less than half price.

It has certainly not happened to us. IMO this was an 'urban myth' started by those that didn't trust
the original gas company canvassers that came around wanting to sell the gas & installations. The other
one was something like "As soon as we have an earthquake pipes will be bursting all over the place!"
Ridiculous!

Hi everyone! We are thinking to buy a house in Cuesada La Fiesta. Currently house doesn't have a heating only AC cold/hot which I do not think is a good solution for heating. My question is: is it really cold in winter and heating is the must? The agent is telling that it is not really cold, winter time is short, central heating is not really necessary, there are other economical solutions to heat the house etc. I do not really trust all this bla...bla...bla ;)
Natural gas boiler is one of the best solution if it is done properly. We have it in our home place. If the house does not have it how it can be arranged? Where in Quesada main gas pipes are laid?

I suppose the words "never trust an agent" apply here. Yes, it gets cold. It even snowed here a couple of weeks ago.
Houses are built to keep cool in summer but not warm in winter so they cool down quickly. Many times it is warmer outside than in so you definitely, definitely need some kind of heating and can last 3 months or more.
An aircon with an inverter is one of the best ways to warm a place up and can be quite cheap to run. Obviously depends on the type fitted and how noisy it is but most are very quiet nowadays (ours is a ducting system and whisper quiet).
Mains gas is being fitted in Quesada, don't know what parts of La Fiesta have been done but it could be an option.
Meanwhile, the aircon should be more than sufficient.
