Soapy Water??

Soapy Water??

Postby lostinspain » Sun Sep 17, 2017 12:17 pm

Bit of an odd one here.. Did some cleaning up in the garden today, turned the garden hose on and a bunch of soap bubbles came out!
Thought maybe that the hose might have somehow been dunked with soap thanks to the kids..

Went and turned kitchen sink on - the same thing! cloudy soap with bubbles!

Has anyone come across this before?
As far as i'm aware we are connected to the mains so other people must be getting their lines cleaned as well??

Often get bubbly water from the hosepipe when we first switch it on. I think the water in the pipe must get very hot and foams up. Not had it from an indoor tap, though.

Its not doing it now thou - not even a trace.

Is it actually soapy, or is it just cloudy and bubbly? if it is the latter, it is just excess oxygen in the water, it clears quickly when you run the tap.

It really looked like soap, although didn't have oily look to it. It also stayed cloudy where as when we have had cloudy/bubbly water from the excess oxygen it usually goes clear after a few moments.

Wish I didn't just chuck it out and also wished I took a video recording or something now!
I'm guessing no one else had this sort of issue so It may have been a complete one off or even some really lucid dream.
Or I guess an extreme case of the excess Oxygen in the water.
