September weather

Postby Jan » Mon Aug 31, 2015 10:02 pm

It's usually really nice in September and my grown up children are coming out there for just one week from Thursday - I've seen the forecast and it doesn't look too good - Rain every day - I hope it's going to be a bit sunny as they are looking forward to some good weather!

Any ideas what it will be like?

Just had a small storm with some rain. Forecast not so good for the next couple of weeks, unfortunately, but it's very hot and steamy.
Usually very good in September.

Thanks - I suppose hot and steamy is better than cold and wet as it is here in the UK at the moment.

Shame though, when it's been so nice recently and in the past we are usually guaranteed warm sunny weather in September.

Maybe the forecast will get better.

Check out the weather link, looks like we are in for some rain but quite often it's forecast and nothing happens hey it's got to rain sometime! Saturday and Sunday look the worst but look on the sunny side the rain will be WARM ;)

Eltiempo is a good forecast - I always forget we now have Eltiempo weather forecast in our left hand column on this forum.

I don't even possess an umbrella in Spain - I guess that I will have to add that one to the list the next time that I am over! Seems that it is going to get hard to even come over as I have just read about a baggage handlers strike at 5 of the main airports!!

I'd recommend a golf brolly ... only thing which offers any real cover when it's chucking it down here ... and footwear which will survive a soaking! For example, Avenida de Huelva in DP2 runs ankle-deep+ in a downpour!!
If you do get a golf brolly, invest a little extra in one with a fibreglass shaft ... metal ones make good lightning conductors (having been in a metal-roofed house when it was struck, it's not an experience I'd like to repeat

It's also worth checking your balcony drains for blockages(leaves, etc) ... I have been flooded twice, from upstairs down, as a result of neglecting this!! (nice waterfall down the stairs ) :text-lol:
