Persiana companies

Persiana companies

Does anyone know of any companies locally that specialise in persiana and accessory supplies?

We need some new lengths of slats (lamas) and tried in AKI today and I have looked online at Leroy Merlin but they dont seem to do the right size and profile to fit our persianas.

I think you’ll find that if you do manage to locate the correct profile/size of slats and replace a couple of damaged slats then they’ll look out of place because they’ll be a different colour.
You may find that your existing persianas will have a spare slat or two that never come out of the roller box. If you have a number of windows that are the same size then you may be able to steal one of the unused slats from each one without affecting their operation. The ones that have remained in the roller box may still be a slightly different colour, but if you’re careful where you use them then the result may be okay.

Otherwise, replace all of the slats with ones of a different profile. They aren’t that expensive and if you’re buying from Leroy Merlin then you may find it cheaper to buy longer lengths and cut them into several slats of the right size, as the longer lengths seem to be cheaper per metre than the shorter ones. They do some with insulation inside, so might be a bit warmer in winter.

If you think that the different style of slats will look out of place then if you have a window that is on a different side of the building then fit them there, and re-use the old slats in the window that’s broken (assuming that they are the same size of longer than the ones that need to be replaced.

Sorry Pete I didnt make it clear in my previous post, we have a couple of spare slats in the persiana of the patio door that has a broken one so that can be fixed for now.

The problem is that the other half of the patio doors and both bedroom windows are at their limit so I wanted some spares. I think the ones we have are pretty old so you might be right and we will need to replace each one entirely.

Thanks for replying.
