I'm after a UHD TV - 49", either Samsung or LG.
Have looked around the usual suspects...Conforama, Carrefour, Alcampo, MediaMarkt, Tien21 & Don De.
Does anyone have any other suggestions, or received particularly good service from any of them? I found Tien 21 and Don De to be expensive!
Thanks!

After shopping around for a new TV ourselves we chose MediaMarkt, they were the cheapest for the set we wanted, no sill hard "you must take out extra insurance" sales either. Luckily the set hasn't faulted so we have no idea how they are for returns, we were strongly advised to avoid Carrefour though as their returns policy was shocking and very hard work.
No idea if this helped

We found the cheapest option was to buy from a UK retailer, have the item shipped to Silverdale's depot in the UK and have Kevin bring it over.
Admittedly, we bought our Samsung in John Lewis' Black Friday sale but our £599 expenditure plus Kevin's fee was by and far cheaper than Carrafour's 999€

Really? Samsung 49ku6450 UHD from MediaMarkt at €696. Same model at Currys/PCWorld at £649.
Samsung KU6640 curved screen UHD 49 inch at MediaMarkt €737. Same model at Currys £849.
And what would you do it you had to return it under warranty?
Also remember items like this have a 2 year warranty compared to the UK one of one year.
Media Markt are fine but don't deliver or install unless you pay extra.
Avoid Carrefour, far more expensive and after sales service non existent.
They sometimes have a IVA free day at MediaMarkt which is 21% off everything and it really does do what it says on the box. My Sony Bravia 48 inch was around €550 which was over 100 euro off and far cheaper than the UK equivalent.

Yes, really. Hard as you might find the evidence, the Samsung UE49KU6500 was down to £599 in November and WAS 999€ At Carrafour at the same time.

I believe you and not doubting you. Just that I did say avoid Carrefour as they are more expensive than anywhere else.

We were lucky with Carrefour, my husband spotted a 49" Samsung UHD TV on offer for €439 he double checked the price and was assured that it was correct, other places were nearly €200 more for the same model (last October). The only problem was a battered box.The waranty is not as good as the 5 year we have from John Lewis on our UK Samsung but we will take our chances. Good luck
