Hi ,
First of all Thank you for the information about the village, This will be a great help.
Second, my husband hijacked the account this morning and asked another question without Thanking you for your responses.

We visited Heredades and fell in love with a property and made an offer which was excepted straight away. Our intentions were to go back the next day and check out the village. Unfortunately that evening my husband broke his ankle and with his leg in plaster and no crutches this was going to be a hard task to undertake in the couple of days we had left.

At least now we have an idea of where to purchase essentials on our arrival and may even stop off for a drink or two ?

Hi
Good luck with your new property. It sounds like a nice little town.

Hopefully someone on here can give a link to the bus route there.

Welcome to the forum and please ask any questions on here anytime. If you have already read it we have a topic for 'moving in to a new property' on our home page with lots of hints and tips for any area.
quesada-general-discussion-f9/helpful-tips-information-and-advice-for-moving-to-quesada-t2913.html

Also we have a new website with forums that cover all areas of the Costas including Heredadas but they are just starting up like this forum was 3 years ago. They take a while to get going but hopefully in time they will become as popular as our Quesada forum and help people in those areas not covered by this forum. Maybe you can get people chatting in Heredadas on there. Here's the link- just click on the blue band and put in what you want and the area and then 'find information'. As I said not all areas have information yet but you can be our first Heredadas poster to get things going :) :

However, do please stay on here too. We have lots of info that is quite generic and is helpful where ever you have a property.

It's not the world's best kept secret!
:text-lol:

Apparently the Spanish village of Las Heredades is near to Formentera and not far from Rojales and Benijofar. So its not that far from Quesada really.

There...secrets out.

10 minute drive to Quesada - a walk to Formentera and 45 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) to Rojales.

A traditional little Spanish farming village / community, tucked away only 5-10 mins from the expat areas & a 10 minute drive to Guardamar. Population, 600 or so.

I'm not sure it is the most interesting place to visit (OK it's not) - but it is a peaceful place to live & plenty of nice local walks, fields and views.

I moved there after renting in Playa Flamenca over one summer and hated it - druken expat idiots screaming past your door at 2a.m - now we don't have that, but do have to contend with a fiesta or two, which I can cope with....just about :D One benefit is that the prices of drink and food in the local shops / bars etc, is much cheaper (and more generous) than in many of the main expat areas. Quadruple brandy about €1.50 in one of the bars.

According to my Mrs, none of the supermarkets deliver - she looked into it recently.

There is the local corner grocery shop and also a larger grocery shop / butchers down by the side of Quino's - old farmers bar...the cheapest....if not prettiest.

Nearest supermarket is Supervalu in Fomentera, which is a 30 minute walk - 2 mins in the car.

We have recently discovered that the Kebab shop in Formentera delivers though.....

Also if ever wanting to eat, all the bars will cook you whatever you want. That includes Chimos, Quinos, Ricon del la Huerta (Pacos) - they seem to make a great chicken breast sandwich in the village & will also knock you up food to take away. Don't ask for a menu....in most instances they don't have one. Local bars knock up surprisingly nice food.

Just watch out for home brew red wine in Quino's. I'm not sure what it is possibly a moonshine / brandy hybrid - 2 or 3 small glasses of that and you may well start questioning your sanity:D

Not in the village but Heredades is conained in the address of one of our favourite restaurants, Casa Anonio, at the back of the poligono close to cv91.
Wonderful food, very reasonably priced. The building has wooden shutters and is full of atmosphere. The place is always full with mainly Spanish customers but a fair sprinkling of northern Europeans too.
