I read that article. The poor lady is now in a pickle. No exit stamp and now a potential marker against her by virtue of being denied entry. Now she faces the dilemma of how she ever gets an exit stamp from an EU country despite being back in the UK so unable to enter. Bit of a mess.

Which sort of demonstrates that the border force are totally reliant on the stamps in passports to calculate the length of stay. I would recommend that non residents insist that their passports are stamped on entry & exit.

Yes, I agree. But I do feel for this lady in these circumstances. Remonstrating with a border official would take some balls and that assumes that the gates will be manned at all times or else its a case of seeking one out - hopefully these days with being non-EU the points of entry/exit will always be manned. I know in my 30 odd years of travel to Spain it wasn't uncommon to find no one at all at the border posts - but that was whilst the UK were in the EU so one would hope this won't arise in future.
My partner is fortunate in having an EU passport and the envy is real when she gets waved through the gate without queuing for the stamp...although out of caution when arriving together we do point out to the guard her passport should not be stamped as always worried with mine alongside and flying from England they will go into automatic mode and stamp both.

I saw an interesting post from a firm of solicitors which stated the current EU/UK non visa requirement only applies to tourists. If you are travelling in and out of the Schengen area for work purposes from the UK then you need a different visa.

Hi, folks!
I’m newcomer.
There are many online and app Schengen calculators, but most them miscalculate and no one check the results.
There are many examples and here is an example;
There are many other examples, I hope to open a new topic about “Wrong Schengen calculators”
Meanwhile I recommend the below Schengen calculators which are accurate!
https://www.visa-calculator.com/ (this is not official, but handy and reliable)
https://ec.europa.eu/assets/home/visa-calculator/calculator.htm?lang=en (this is official)
Wish you all a Happy New Year

Just an interesting thought,
If the lady that was refused entry because of no exit stamp being in her passport subsequently then ´´lost´´ her passport and was issued a new one in the UK, it would not then have any stamps or markers within it at all and as there is currently no electronic data base of movement in and out of the Schengen area, would her dilemma potentially be resolved in principle at least?

Surely all passports are scanned at border check point in Airports the scanner will then check and enter the details on to a database
