If you have a valid pension-related S1, your wife would qualify for a dependent's S1, issued by the same authority. (Whether UK or Ireland will depend where you are currently living I think. ) The authorities accept a dependent's S1 as evidence of health coverage.

The lady at the town hall in Rojales didn't ask for the marriage certificate. We both had individual S1 certificates and my wife's said Pensioner and mine said Beneficiary as completed by the UK overseas health team.

I was told I might need the translated Marriage certificate for the Residency Apt ( as was presenting 1 pensioner , 1 dependent S1 forms as proof of healthcare coverage) . But was not asked for it. Will be lodging the forms this week at Rojales Town Hall to get the SIP cards etc and will bring it with me but will let you know if they ask for it or not. Probably useful to have it anyway. The official translation ( arranged via Solicitor) cost c 60 euros.
