Interesting video from Channel 4
Discuss your questions about the EU and Brexit and what it means for Quesada and Spain

I was embarrassed to be British when I saw the Channel 4 documentary. People who voted to leave, now changing their mind because they've only just understood what "Freedom of movement" means? Even though we've had it for more than 25 years! A couple where the wife's no longer going to come to Spain because her dog's passport may no longer be valid? And a woman on the Costa del Sol saying that British migrants have been abandoned by the UK government providing "expatriates" with little or no information?
The UK government has been issuing contingency plans and the implications of a 'No deal' Brexit for months, available to any of us to read on the Gov.UK website. We still don't know which way it's going to go, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be reading the contingency plans - it's not scaremongering, it's forward planning.

I was under the impression that the UK government wanted to ensure that British expats living in Spain, and their European counterparts living in the UK after the split, (if it ever happens) would still have the same rights in their respective countries of residence, as they do now. Reports also stated that it was something that the European countries wanted to keep in place as well.

Yes, they have stated an "intention"... nothing has been decided yet.....

The spanish government have issued statements saying that our health care will not change, but they have not passed a law to that effect

On the topic of healthcare, with the oft quoted caveat of "only if UK reciprocates" it should be remembered that in UK (uniquely) entitlement to NHS care is predicated solely on legal residence so for Spanish and other Europeans citizens living there what's not to reciprocate?

Most tv stations and newspapers do seem to thrive on misinformation and shock type headlines
They rarely seem to tell the true story and would rather perpetuate myth, negativity and rumour than cold, clear facts
It’s easy to interview 100 people but simply broadcast or report those responses that agree with the producers, stations, newspapers own political bias
We really do need to do our own research and as somebody said, the Uk and Spanish governments have websites, regularly updated, providing accurate, unbiased, useful information

You are correct that the respective Government’s websites will provide accurate, unbiased and useful information but, not until an agreement has been made.
Until then, any website information is fluid. Which leaves those of us, who are not with the ‘it’ll be alright on the night’, ‘head in the sand brigade, more than a little concerned

However, both governments have, and are continuing to publish , useful information applicable if there is ‘no deal’ and it’s quite clear from the websites what will happen in that situation
If an agreement is reached, parliament permitting, then brits here will be far more secure than in a ‘no deal’ situation
However, as I said, it is now, quite clear what will happen after brexit in the event of no deal
