Retiring to Quesada post brexit

Postby Pauline JM » Sat Jan 16, 2021 4:15 pm

I own a holiday apartment in Rojales and the plan was to retire there once I reached retirement age which is still a few years away.

But with Brexit I don't know if I can still do that. I don't have a mortgage on the apartment, but I will only have my state pension and a small private pension.

I find the various websites I visit quite confusing in terms of how much you need to earn each month and private health insurance. It all seems a bit of a minefield. Has anyone any advice about this topic please?

Thanks, Pauline

Thanks Paul,

That was a very helpful link. The figures are equivalent to a low range salary in the UK so I guess I need to hope my private pensions prosper (very doubtful going by the current political trends) ;)

The income requirements are to prove that you have sufficient funds not to be a burden on Spain during your the period of your visa. It's not necessarily income but could be money held on deposit in a Spanish bank. This money could come from various sources such as a UK house sale or sale of investments.
