The poor relation of the G7

Postby Glassfull » Tue Jan 31, 2023 3:36 pm

I was wondering why the UK alone, differs from the others in the G7 then, it suddenly dawned on me, Brexit and a despicable Tory Government

Absolutely. I cannot begin to even tell you the contempt I feel for the Tory Government. They foisted Brexit on us with nothing but lies. But just like the Tories I have always known they are just the same right now. They look after their own rich cronies and don't give a rats ar*se about anyone outside their crony network.

There, now it's said....

Oh what happened to the Great Britain I loved.?

Strikes everywhere, failing economy, the army downgraded, corrupt politicians, NHS in dire straights, the poor choosing whether to eat or heat their homes, high inflation, impossible mortgages, Rising rents, high energy costs...

Who has done this?

How sad I feel for the UK that seems to have been stolen..or given away.

Very sad but it’s the voters who are responsible for Brexit. The conservatives had committed to a referendum in their election manifesto and because of such gains by UKIP had no choice but to hold it

Their payback was in the money markets and with deregulation but the way they created monsters, immigration, sovereignty and foreigners taking ‘our’ jobs, to sway people’s opinions, demonstrated just how insidious they are.

But, the Right has always done that, invent a ‘them’ which supposedly attacks ‘us’, to swell public opinion and to disguise the Right’s real intentions.

You are right of course but, it was the Right’s manipulation of the masses with falsehoods that one the day, not truth.

The rightwing of the Tory Party has always created "demons" for the working classes. We cannot escape the truth that Brexit was about immigration. The typical working class peron has been brainwashed about "all those foreigners taking our jobs" whilst at the same time "taking all the benefits because they are lazy". I never did get my head around how they could be both at the same time.

I saw all the Daily Mail and Daily Express headlines all during the Brexit debate and it's frightening to see what they were saying. How they got away with it I just don't know.

If you think it’s bad now, wait until Labour get in ??

You only have to look at Labour controlled areas like Wales & London, to be convinced that they will screw it up much worse than the Tories.
