UK referendums are not legally binding on the government because of Parliamentary Sovereignty. They are only consultative an their results can be ignored by the Government.

What a big mistake the Leavers made, instead of crying "FOUL" they should have stayed within the E.U. and used the energy they expended to leave the E.U. to fight for change from within. We need to break the strangle hold these bureaucrats have on the system and forcibly remove their snouts from the trough. It's better to be inside the tent pi**ng out , than on the outside pi***ng in. Any way there is still a long way to go yet, witness the demos in London now, a lot more civil unrest to come. Pastyman I couldn't agree with you more, this was my argument from the start. But hey ho we now have to get together and fight for what we think is right without the EU and make the best of a very bad job. The more we sit at each other's throats the longer the markets will steer clear of us, we need to get going to put agreements in place as quickly as possible and look forward to a good future outside the EU.

As those leading the exit campaign hadn't got a plan in place it will take years to sort out. I saw today that the UK does not have enough trained negotiators. Might have been best to have checked that first.

Would it be fair to say (judging by numerous posts) approx 17 million voters got it wrong by expressing their opinion to exit the EU , if that's the case surely the UK has a major dilema to deal with, half the voting population can't be trusted to go to the ballot box.
Perhaps at the next Election / Referendum

to make it crystal clear to the (approx 17 MILLION) .

A. Someone will vote on their behalf
OR
B. They will have a "special ballot paper" only one choice.

Would that be a suitable outcome?

Someone is going to negotiate the exit on their behalf and attempt new trade deals on their behalf. Maybe it needs another referendum to make sure the seventeen million get what they wanted or just leave it to the knuckle dragging fascists of Britain first.

Who will rubber stamp the exit deals? Maybe some unelected civil servants might get in on the act.
