A consultative referendum is just that, a consultative referendum, it is not legally binding. Get over it.
In any case, what Ian Hislop said, on a recent edition or Question Time (07 July) is very true.
In response to the cry of "Remainers should shut up", he said;
"After an election or a referendum, even if you lose the vote, you are entitled to go on making the argument.
When a government in this country wins an election, the opposition does not say ‘oh that’s absolutely right I’ve got nothing to say for five years‘.
So, for those of us trying really hard over the last few weeks to follow what on earth is happening in this country: the Leave vote has left us with a group of leaders who, having lit the fire, have run away saying someone else can clear up the mess; the Prime Minister who put us in the mess has resigned; everybody is gone; all the people who put their cross down for Leave saying ‘this is what we want‘ – they seem to be getting a group of people who say ‘we can’t stop immigration, we can’t get £350 million, oh and there might be quite a lot of austerity… sorry, bye!‘

I remember reading an article that suggested hard working couples couldn't afford more than one child because not only were they providing for themselves but also those on benefits with 5-6 children who have no intention of working. Eventually the Gene pool would favour those not working.

Terence wrote:What always makes me grin is this ALL pull together, who are the ALL? The many billionaires, the host of multi millionaires, the chap on the dole, the woman with three kids who just about keeps her head above water, the disabled, especially those under 35 who have seen their benefits chopped and all the other folks who are struggling to pay their way through the severe social security cuts, so the well off and can avoid taxes.
It's a phrase that means nothing, nothing whatsoever, just like the so called "Getting our country back" whatever does that mean !! Close the borders, yeah right and see Britain sink slowly down the tube. It's all barmy rhetoric that got votes but that is all it was, vote catching phrases that people fell hook, line and sinker for and the best of all was the lie about the NHS and £350 million pounds to be saved from the EU and spent on the NHS. Total crap but people love that kind of blind hope.
Britain will pay out massively on solicitors, accountants and experts costs to unravel the 40 odd years of trade agreements and then try to work out new agreements in less than two years (that just is not going to happen) with the EU, who have no doubt, will play hardball and if for nothing else, they cannot give the UK anything more than the rest of the EU get, in fact the Britain will be in a pretty poor position come the actual day of Brexit but do carry on dreaming that we are so powerful we can demand anything and get it and not pay for it any more than those within the EU.
All I see is Brexiteers saying the EU is finished as we are leaving, sorry that is just a sad dream with crazy hope that it might happen, well it isn't going to. The UK leaving the EU will hurt the UK and badly.Wait as see just how we will have to beg for morsels of the massive EU pot, sure we are big importers but the EU will carry on fine without us being members.
Excellent post Terence could not agree more.

"Brexit means Brexit".
What does that mean though?
Does anybody know?
Could it mean a slight tweak on what is in place already?
Apart from the pound crashing and burning.Has much else changed in the months since the referendum?
Will anything much change in the next few months, years or even decades?
Can Brexit mean pretty much whatever the government want it to ?

Many do accept it, some are even pleased about it but some don't want to accept it - We are all different - Such is life - c'est la vie - Why can't you accept that?!
