Afternoon Tea at The Vestry, Algorfa.

Afternoon Tea at The Vestry, Algorfa.

I went to try out this phenomenon today, with a group of my friends!! You have to make a booking for this event!!

The decor is great and the tables were nicely laid out. We were there between 2pm and 4.30pm. We ordered drinks and once we were in place there was a continual stream of sandwiches (many different sorts including pork and apple and salmos and caviar); quiches; chilli eggs curry wraps etc. Teas and coffees were brought around and then a selection of cakes did the rounds. I might add all the dishes "did the rounds a few times" - so it pays you not to eat breakfast before you go!!

The teas and coffees were included in the price, but the initial drink wasn't. So worth going if you fancy a different sort of meal.

All the parking is on-street (no car park) and credit cards are accepted.

They also do set menus; a la carte; Sunday lunches (from 1pm) and roasts are available every day. No menus were available to take away!

The Vestry Calle Constitucion Algorfa // 966 783 976 or 662691637 / www.vestryrestaurant.com

==========================================#

Directions:
from roundabout outside the Arches

AP-7 towards Alicante
Exit junction 743 to Algorfa via CV920

Turn left at traffic lights - the first set that you come to when entering Algorfa - towards La Finca Golf. On to CV 935.

Take the 7th road on the right (c/Constitucion 13) and the Vestry is signposted.

It might sound slightly complicated, but when you are driving it is easy to find!!;)

You're :text-welcomewave:

I have heard about a number of clubs who are going to go to the Vestry for Christmas meals - so a very popular venue!

If you are looking for a lovely Afternoon Tea, Casa la Pedrera, The Grand Design House does a scrumptious Afternoon Tea through the months of November through to Easter as the tea garden cafe´ moves from the Pool Area up into the Grand Design House. :D

From the 1st of December they offer a wonderful selection of home made sandwiches and delicious cakes, all with a Christmas Twist. Sit back and relax and and enjoy the stunning views over the water, of the La Pedrera, Reservoir and the backdrop of the Vega Baga Mountains. You can elect to sit by the fire on a cold day, or soak up some winter sun on one of their many stepped terraces, taking full advantage of the fantastic views. The House itself is beautifully decorated in a lavish Christmas Style.

Browse around the lovely CRAFT SHOP, which supports many local Crafters, and pick up a gift for that someone special. You will be amazed at the quality and prices.

Minimum booking for the Christmas High Tea is 4, or alternatively you can just turn up between the hours of 11am and 4.30pm and enjoy a cup of tea and coffee and savour the views. You can also elect to take a gentle stroll down to the lake within the Natural Reserve that is rich in bird life and plant life including the aromatic herbs, rosemary and thyme.

Casa La Pedrera is principally an Outdoor Activity Centre, with activities for all ages such as quad biking, horse riding, kayaking, fishing, archery and air rifle, but the House and Gardens are open to the daily public to enjoy some light refreshments and enjoy the fabulous views.

There are also year round events such as their Horse & Flamenco Shows, Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween Parties, Bonfire Night and Carols by Candlelight, so no matter what time of year you come on holiday, there is something of interest for the whole family.

The House is a well known landmark in the area, as the building of it was featured in the popular TV series with Kevin McCloud. THE HOUSE AND ACTIVITY CENTRE ARE OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND EXCEPT CHRISTMAS DAY.

You can also rent a bike or bring your bikes up and take a lovely circular ride (approx 20km) around the La Pedrera Lake or if you feeling fit cycle up from Algorfa. Directions below.

You can find them up the road from Algorfa. Travel up the CV945 (Los Montesinos) over the AP7 motorway direction Orihuela Bigastro. Turn right into the CV95 direction Orihuela. Pass Vista Bella & La Fortaleza and at the crest of the hill turn left into the CV950. Travel 700m and turn left at the sign for Casa La Pedrera.
