Adopting a rescue dog
Adopting a rescue dog
by lucia » Wed Apr 19, 2023 10:08 pm
Hi, good evening,
I have rescued two doggies from Spain and looking to adopt a third. Currently, I live 75% in the UK and 25% in Spain. This will shortly change, once my Spanish residency is finalised.
Soooo, I'm looking to adopt a third dog. To be honest, I can't bear the thought of going into a rescue centre and picking the 'one' when there are so many of them.
This may be a bit of a 'tall order' but I was thinking - if it is at possible - for a rescue centre to come and visit me and my doggies in our natural enviroment (in Spain) and for them to make the decison as to which one, in their opinion, they would be the best fit. I fully appreciate this would be subject to a trial period, to make sure it works for us all.
In return, I would like the rescue centre to save a dog from one of the 'killing stations'. I will 100% pay for that expense, and pay ongoing costs, until that doggie finds it's forever home.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Please see "Meet Dave" in the animals for adoption section.
We found him wandering a village having been abandoned.
He is a true character, smart, funny and very affectionate. Unfortunately we cannot keep him.
Our next move is to take him to a rescue centre which we really don't want to do!

Bless him. I've gone onto your 'meet Dave' post but cannot see any pictures. I know that they do not provide a complete picture of Dave's character but it would help in terms of assesing his size etc and how he would fit in with the two menaces I currently have. Would you mind PM me some photos? Thank you.

Awww he's lovely. Thank you for sharing.
He is huge already which I don't think will work well with my doggies. My female Spanish rescue is 21 kg's and gets on with smaller dogs as she treats them like her babies (she never had any of her own). Please let me know which rescue Dave is going to and I will do my upmost to help him find a forever home. Do you think he will be ok travelling? I'm thinking about some of the contacts I have in the UK. I'm happy to pay the cost towards that.
