Torrevieja Dog Pound And Cats
Torrevieja Dog Pound And Cats
by Tillybob » Sun Feb 28, 2016 12:46 pm
The Dog Pound is situated opposite the Habaneras Shopping Centre.
Take the slip road directly in front of the Police station.Go past the police station and the Fire station and take the next right turn.Go to the very bottom of the road where you will see double blue gates on the left. The gates are the entrance to the shelter.
They welcome visitors between the hours of 10am and 2pm on Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm Sat and Sunday to hopefully adopt a dog or take one out for a walk
Please, if possible, are you able to adopt or help in any way ?
We are also looking after 25 cats and kittens at the moment.
When we visited on Friday they mentioned that "wet" dog food is in short supply.Any donations would be welcome. We are asking for any old parasols for shade in this intense heat.
Thank you.

You can now visit the pound everyday of the week.Monday to Friday between 10 and 2 and weekends between 9 and 1 pm.There are dogs there of all sizes and ages all looking for their forever home.
If you need any help there are English speaking people there most days. It's worth going along to look at the dogs and take one for a walk.If you are interested in any then they do a home visit and fill in necessary paperwork.Hope to see you down there.

.This was posted on their fb page ...yet more puppies and dogs coming in every day ...are there people out there that can spare an hour or two to help out with walking the dogs or help with the many cats and kittens we have there..or maybe foster or adopt some of these poor animals...many are not abandoned...but come from homes where their owner is very ill or died..they are finding it tough locked up except for when the kind volunteers come to walk them in the mornings ..Last edited by Terry the gardener on Mon Jun 26, 2017 4:29 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Hi Mike,
Just wondered if you managed to get to the animal shelter to adopt a pit bull last week.I know that they have some in along with about 30 other dogs.Look forward to meeting you.I'll be there this week along with other English speaking people who would be able to help with paperwork etc.
