If it is acceptable, then the airports are doing it for 50 quid and another lab on line is advertising it for 40 quid.
Therefore, wouldn't that be the one to get? Hope it is acceptable.

Wouldn't it be helpful if the airlines put a banner on their sites advising which tests were officially acceptable for Spain or any other EU country, or put a little dropdown "i" box once you select a Spanish destination and put the information in it.

Which lab did you find doing them for £40? I know Heathrow are doing them for £50 at the airport but, I will be flying from Bristol. (if we are allowed in after 1st Jan)

I've just booked RT-LAMP (Rest of the World) test at Manchester Airport £79 for 31st Dec.
Im flying to Spain 2nd Jan

I am assuming RT Lamp (Reverse-Transcription Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification) is the same as the
TMA (Transcription-Mediated Amplification test) that has recently been approved by the Spainish govt.....
My theory being the same words are used in RT-LAMP as TMA

If I am wrong could someone please advise.

For Info,
The RT-PCR test at Manchester Airport is £99.
The Only reason I haven't booked that test, is because the turn aroung time is 24-48 hours and I was worried the results might be delayed over New Year. Whereas the RT-LAMP test results are available in 90 Minutes

We travelled to Quesada yesterday, obtained our PCR test and official fit to fly certificate within the 72 hour requested timeframe, which was very stressful when waiting for the results, but we completely understand and agree with the principle of why we had to have them. However, no one on arrival at Alicante Airport or at departing at Manchester Airport asked to see it. They were only interested that we had our QR code which detailed what our trip was for and where we will be staying etc. Dumbfounded by it all really!!

Presumably they don't need to physically see it as your passport number is on your PCR Cert so all your details are contained in your flight QR code - PCR test and the health form. You won't be allowed onto a flight in the UK to Spain unless you have the PCR test Cert. All the passengers on incoming flights are already well flagged to the Airport Immigration in Spain.

. You need your passport with you to get the test and number is on the certificate. An nhs one would not have your passport number, therefore not acceptable. .... just as a side note, my husband tested negative, I tested positive so he could have travelled but didn’t. 2 days later he tested positive with an nhs test so could have infected the plane. Nothing is foolproof.

Which simply says you shouldn't use the NHS for a test to travel. In other words, a test for travel is not available on the NHS, not that it is not accepted if you have had one.

PS. Hope you're recovering. Nasty thing.
