AEAT Embargo
AEAT Embargo
by BNT162b2 » Wed Mar 23, 2022 10:12 pm
I noticed a debit from my bank account this morning, from AEAT Embargoes.
The bank letter attached was in the documents section of the app.
It seems to relate to "administrative or fiscal debts". As far as I'm aware, I've paid all necessary taxes.
It may be that there's a letter from AEAT in my post box, but I'm in the UK at the moment and I'm not out for a couple of months.
Has anyone seen anything similar,or know what this may relate to?
Thank you.

Well, it does indeed say there is a legal or fiscal debt to be paid to the tax office.
It says that, if you don't challenge it within 20 days, the amount will be retained.
It says regarding the debt at the foot of this letter but there is nothing at the foot of the letter.
It could be the complimentary tax (where they think you haven't paid the full transfer or IVA), a late payment or late submission payment.
Yes, you should get a letter in your post box which you have to sign for but, from past experience, the post office only hold on to the letter for about 8 to 10 days before returning it.
They normally only retain an amount if they have written to you and the bill hasn't been paid.
Hope that helps a little.

Thanks Marcliff.
There was indeed a second page, with a bill for €179ish, to "Delegacion de la AEAT Del Ministerio de Economia y Hacienda".
The amount was debited today.
I'll see if I can get a neighbour to check my post box.
