For transferring large amounts you should look into getting a Euro account with you UK bank then you can transfer without any worries about exchange rates most of the UK banks offer these accounts
FX currency companies are not the best way to transfer large amounts

Currency exchange companies offer better exchange rates than the bank, also they do not charge a transfer fee unlike most, if not all banks. We used Currencies Direct and found them very good.

I love Transferwise. Really grateful to whomever first recommended it on this site. Has transformed my banking between UK and Spain. Once upon a time had to plan ahead and transfer larger amounts of cash. Now I just top up whenever funds get a bit low. At a £1+ in charges for small amounts and almost inter bank rate it is just like making a deposit at your local branch, and the app is very easy to use. If it is not the best, it is certainly up there with the best in my view.

We can highly recommend Smart Currency Exchange. We used Smart when we purchased our property and have transferred money on several occasions since. Easy to deal with and they provide a very efficient service.

I use Currencies4you.
They are quick, friendly and advise you up front of the exchange rate before dealing with any transaction.
The transfer is normally in the Spanish bank within 24 hours
Contact telephone for this company is +44 1322 319550
