Are there any banks in Quesada that don't have bank charges?

I normally use a prepaid euro card before I come out , but was told that the rate for sterling cash in the centre of Quesada was higher . On my last visit I changed my pounds in Quesada and got a much better rate than the prepaid card , so now I will be taking my pounds and changing them in Quesada , saving myself the trouble unless the pound starts to fall before my next trip , then I will buy a certain amount in euros and take pounds, it is a balancing act

That's is another option.
I did look at the rate in the money exchange shop in Quesada and it was roughly the same as the pre paid card I use. Don't know what there commission rate they charge, will take a closer look next time.

A dormant post but I'll have a go.
Does Santander charge for non residents if they are always in credit? My bank charges a maintenance fee, card fees, non residents certificate fees and finally fees for too many transactions in a month/period.

We are with Sabadell - I think all banks have to charge for the non residents certificate in Spain and card fees which we pay - We pay 15 euros every three months for the maintenance on the account, which isn't too bad, and no other fees for anything else (except for our bank to transfer money to Spain if we do that. However Sabadell do not charge for accepting the transfer). There is another account that Sabadell have for those paying regular amounts into the account which is I think is free of fees.
When Sabadell were Lloyds and before that Halifax, the rules were more like UK banks - no charges for maintenance and foreign transfers, as they had UK branches.
Since most of the UK named banks that were in Spain now appear to have moved to Spanish named banks and governed by Spanish rules & regulations, we (British) are a bit snookered when it comes to charges. Even Barclay's are changing to Spanish owned, if they haven't already!
We have found Sabadell to be the best of the bunch - Very good customer service too - They answer on email and even on Twitter, if any problems, and phone back from Spain if necessary, so those of us in the UK don't have to make expensive phone calls if they don't want to.

Thanks for your comprehensive reply looks like I'll have to accept the fees! I just can't get over the fact that my bank in the UK pays me £5 per month to bank there!!

Yes UK banks are generally free of fees...ours pays us £5 a month too! - We had a shock when we first banked in Spain ten years ago (before we moved to the 'late' Halifax in Spain) and all the charges were racking up but I think that, like the UK, the banking system in Spain has become more transparent and we can see the fees now and choose a Spanish bank accordingly.
However, there were rumours a while back that UK banks were going to try to start charging fees but hopefully that's gone out the window!
