Bank Account To Open

Bank Account To Open

Postby Niktam » Mon Sep 27, 2021 1:36 pm

I am a non resident who does not pay in regular amounts monthly to our account. Which new account is the cheapest /best account to open looks like Wise or Cajamar(but when you start the application you have to be a resident)?

I can if necessary keep a resonable balance in the account my fees with the (you know who Spanish bank) are too high and (they told us recently)when I use Transfer wise to pay into the account from the UK I will get charged every time as well.

Many thanks

Wise give you a Belgium Iban account so it is in EU and you should not get charged I do it at least 6 times a month with sabadell no charge

With Wise you can hold money in different currencies, for example Pounds, Euros an US Dollars. Each is in a separate account So if you Add £s you can then transfer money to your € account in Wise. The € account is in Belgium, so there are no fees paying into a € account in Spain. The cost of converting money is minimal.

If you buy something in Spain with your Wise card the money automatically goes from your Euro account.

I have just opened a Cajamar account. I am non-resident (of 20 years who became disillusioned with other Spanish banks) and my understanding is that there are no charges as long as you have a cash card (for their ATMs) and not credit/debit cards. For non-cash purchases I use Starling, topped up from my UK main account - no charges and inter-bank exchange rates. Hope this helps

  • When you apply for a Wefferent account with Cajarmar online the first thing that pops up are the key points the forth of which states:-
  • Be of legal age and resident in Spain

  • Was this not an issue when you opened the account and did you do it on line? Thanks
