Looks like it could be the charges for your Visa Electron cards.
We have a joint account with Sabadell and when we set it up they explained that they charge for each debit card. As we only really use the card for ATM withdrawals and the odd purchase, we went for one card that we share.
Pete.

Yes that sounds like it could be that as all banks charge a small yearly fee for cards in Spain with most bank accounts, but we kept both cards and good job we did as one time we arrived in Spain when the banks were closed and needed cash but one card wasn't working so luckily used the other one.
Apparently on all bank cards the magnetic strip can stop working after being near a mobile phone. The bank sorted it when they opened but it could have been a problem if we'd only had one card.

PS Looking at our last annual summary of interests Sabadell charged a total of 37 euros for the 2 cards in 2016.

Jan - does that mean you pay 37 euros annually for your two cards - or is it a one off at the outset?

Yes, I put once a year, but it may be each time we get issued with the new cards. I just know it was on our 2016 annual statement of fees as a fee of 37 euros for "payment cards". It could be once a year though. We only pay 15 euros per quarter for maintenance of our joint current account.
Therefore the total 2016 annual statement for our account for fees was 60 euros maintenance and 37 euros for cards.(Much cheaper than some banks in Spain, who can charge for every transaction...ouch!) Although there can be better accounts, with Sabadell, but it depends if you are Resident, which we are not, and also if you have a lump sum paid in each month there may be no bank charges at all.

If you're a resident with a monthly salary or pension paid in there are no charges and the first bank card is issued free. There is an annual cost for the second one, though.
And they take the charge every year regardless of how long the card lasts for.
The monthly pension payment deposit at Bankia is €200 a month.

Foolishly, I don´t check my statements unless I notice a strange movement in my balance.
I have just checked and Caixa have been charging my wife and I 3€uros each month for insurance on each of our cards. I have never signed up for any insurance, so I will be calling in there to discuss.
Does anybody else make this payment?

We stay in Spain about 3-4 months a year. We were with friends tonight and talking about this subject. I am thinking of converting from a joint account at SabadellCam to a single account.
1) we pay EUR 25 each a year for a debit card (just to take out our own money).
2) every two years we pay for non residents declarations. We should be able to halve that.
3) then there seems to be some incidentals.
On another point, we took out house insurance cover for about EUR270 with the bank. I got a much cheaper quote elsewhere but apparently I was supposed to give the bank 2 months notice. So if u shop around make sure u give the bank plenty of notice.
As we do not have Sabadell credit cards, they are only using my money but I seem to be paying a lot of fees for the privelidge. I get excellent service from Sabadell but think it is worth the time to look at the costs and cut out unnecessary costs where you can.
In the U.K, I only pay a fee to Barclays of £11.50 per month to cover Car Breakdown, world wide medical cover and airline lounge passes. I do not pay for the use of debit or credit cards or any other fees.
I hope this helps.
