On my last house purchase, I transferred the funds for completion directly to my solicitor's client funds account using a currency exchange company. She then took care of ordering the cheques for notary day and I avoided all fees because her client account can accept and issue large amounts without any charges being levied. This saved me hundreds of euros and left me free to shop around for the best deal on house insurance. The solicitor was Silvia Galve at SGM Abogados on Benijofar Main Street. More than half my legal fees were paid from this saving alone!
