Bankia Fees & Charges

Bankia Fees & Charges

Postby Harvey » Wed Jan 01, 2020 11:08 pm

Happy New to All and I hope 2020 will be a good one for everyone.

Just checking if any of you guys got a chance to study the new charges that Bankia sent in the post before Christmas. If anyone out there had a chance to translate the seven page document sent from the Bank I would really appreciate it as I am not in Spain at present. I can see where these charges come into effect in Feb 2020.
Thanks in advance,
Harvey

This is what I received when I asked.

On the 20th of December Bankia sent a letter to all customers informing about new conditions from the 23d of February. You will find it in Mailbox>Correspondence
From the 23rd of February there are new conditions. Please, see the 3 different possibilities:
Free banking:
Apart from receiving a monthly income in your account (400€ for pensions and 700€ for salaries), customers must keep one of the following requirements in order to have free banking:
- Contract your home insurance with us (mínimum a premium of 135€ per year)
- Have a fund of investment with 30000€
- Use 2 times every month your credit card (not the debit one)

Second Option:

If you receive your income (pension or salary) but keep no other requirement, the monthly charge in the account will be 6€ and the debit card will cost 14€ per year.

Third Option:

If you don’t receive pension or salarie in the account it costs 14€ per month and the debit card cost 28€ per year.

Credit cards are free in all cases.

My son went to Bankia this morning and they said if he has their credit card and use it 2 times in a month , he will receive free banking. He will collect the credit card next week but was confused about the payment on this credit card. Obviously if he doesn’t pay the balance within the month he will be charged interest.
Anyone else had this deal and can explain the t & c’s
Happy in the sun.
