I would suggest that any person with a bank account in spain looks at El pais in english april 22 2015 which broadly says
that all account holders details i.e. passport or DNI which have not been digitized as opposed to just being photo copied and stored, may have the account blocked as from may 1 2015.
This will not affect most people, but, for those who the bank has not been able to contact due to address change e.t.c. may have difficulty.
This is not a scare story, but a bank requirement.
We all know that bank bumf usually gets binned as soon as it comes through the letterbox, so some may have missed this one.

Sorry Chalkie
My fault for not reading previous posts.
My accountant has just told me that anyone having pensions of any kind paid in to uk banks ,without repeating the info on their spanish return, must submit a list of 4 years previous by june30 2015, or risk what is described as a hefty fine
whatever that may mean.
