Caixa Bank... Any good?

Bank accounts vary for resident and non residents. We are residents.
Since becoming a pensioner I discovered that if you have your pension paid directly into the bank , the account should be free. This is the case for all banks I think.
I am with Bankinter. Always get good service from English speaking staff.
The one surprise I got when I opened my "free " pensionista account was that I didnt get a bank card. Only a credit card. So all purchases go onto my card and I can clear the account online every month. This turned out to be very useful for me. BUT! there is a charge for the credit card every month. So not strictly a free account.
Our Bankinter branch is just outside the main bit of Quesada, so always easy parking. Worth using that bank just for that lol.
We started off with La Caixa some years ago, but left them because of bad service and rising charges...they may be better now though.
Good luck

We are with them and find the branch in Quesada fine, we've dealt with Maria on quite a few occasions and she has been excellent, I've always had very quick responses from them too when emailed any query, only thing is the non resident bank fees which are pretty high, but I think all the banks are the same when it comes to this.

We also have been with La Caixa for sometime and if you think UK banks are bad then this lot makes them (UK banks) look perfect. Only plus is the staff as the Quesada branch speak English

We were with Bankia for years and were very happy with their service. They were then taken over by Caixta and they are the worst Bank I have ever dealt with. Customer service is extremely bad , they blatantly lied to me twice and the queues to see someone before 11 are horrendous. You can’t get an appointment for weeks and then you have to wait way past the appointment time.
I have just closed my Caixta account and opened up a bank account with Wise and set up the direct debits and it is working perfectly.

Happy in the sun.

Been with Caxia for over 4 years never had any issues with them and I've always found the staff that I've delt with very helpful.
