Caixa Bank, your experience required

Caixa Bank, your experience required

Hi all, and thanks for this superb source of information and tips :)

We may take the opportunity to change bank as we change property.
We now have Cajamar Rural Bank, and it's ok but not exceptional.

What are your experiences of Caixa Bank?
Are there any hidden fees or other mandatory things we should be aware of?
We are offered Eur12 +2,5%, which is 1 percent better than our current rate at Cajamar.
They also take no fee for notary, land registry, solicitor or valuation of property...
Too good to be true?

Hit me with your pros and cons :)

Thank you!

Been with La Caixa for 5 years after moving from Solbank and what a difference. Very good bank, no real problems, no silly charges, Sven the manager is great and solves everything quickly and efficiently. Queues can be annoying, but which bank doesn’t have that issue. Be careful with the insurances on the mortgage, as usual. I now make appointments for any visits. I would recommend them for sure. Good luck.

We use the Torrevieja branch and they are awful. We are changing when we get around to it.

Hi don't believe that they don't take fees We purchased two years ago and they wanted 390.00 for the bank transfer and solicitors and notary were totally different ball game in the end Sven said if we took out their house insurance that he'd waiver the fees for the bankers draft!!
