If you don't succeed at the Rojales Hidraqua office and you say you speak Spanish, just phone the head office number on your bill and they will change it by phone no problem. I did it that way rather than make an appointment.

I went to hidraqua Monday lunchtime in Rojales after booking appointment online, gave the wise iban & bic nos.the lady did all the paperwork & I signed the direct debit form, no problems,Iberdrola was easy at Guardamar with no appointment, suma easiest of the lot with no appointment in Rojales, only problem was Telfy who said they hoped to accept Belgian ibans from August,we’ll see.

Thank you Suzi. That's good news. I should get Hidraqua sorted tomorrow at my appointment. As you say, Suma was very easy. Ibedrola (I still call it that instead of their new awkward reincarnation) was very easy to do online, particularly if you are already registered with them online. You just go into transactions, select "change bank details", click on the Spanish flag, a drop down menu will allow you to select the Belgium flag which automatically adjusts for the shorter IBAN, you pop in the IBAN and confirm and it's done! I think the gas will be a bit problematic and perhaps Telecable and the Community fees too. We shall see. Sayonara Sabadell.

No I haven't. Is that a Sabadell account? Is it open to non residents? All I keep reading about the need to keep feeding an account with a regular amount like a pension in order to get a free account.
