Convenio Especial Warning

Convenio Especial Warning

Postby Linda B » Fri Jul 13, 2018 10:34 am

For those who pay into the heathcare system in Spain check you bank account we have had double payments taken out of our account during July! we went to the bank to have it refunded but they said to get a solicitor or go to Alicante to talk to them there.
I phoned this am and spoke to a lady in the Offices who said all of the people on the Convenio Especial have paid twice for this month because they are changing their systems ( maybe something to do with Brexit ) they will not automatically refund this you need to go into your bank to do.
The number i rang is 966478326. Linda.

It's the second time this has happened to us, the first was when they accidentally did two computer runs over a bank holiday! No problem getting the money back, just went to the bank and they got the over payments back in a couple of minutes. It was in our account immediately. I could see that happening in the UK, I don't think!!!

All reputable banks should reverse illicit charges and investigate. It is their responsibility and customers pay for this. If they don't I would definitely change banks immediately.

my only reason for putting this post on was to warn people who maybe don't check their bank statements regularly that everyone with the Convenio Especial would have double taken out during the month of July and would have to request it back cos they will not be contacting you to say oops sorry we shouldn't have taken the cash from your account and now we have put it back its up to.

If you do on line banking you should be able to take the money back yourself.

Isn't there a time frame within which Banks will only automatically credit you back any rogue payments? (2 weeks possibly?). After that you need to pursue the matter yourself?

We bank on line and if we need a refund of Elect or Water that is fine we can do it but this is a payment to the Government and so it was not possible to do it.
Sorted now just wanted to warn others to check their accounts.

Ah, didn't think about that! Thanks for the heads-up, so the same would apply I guess for any SUMA collected payments.. :text-goodpost: :text-thankyouyellow:
