Currency Diirect

Hi Folks,

Has anyone who may have used Currency Direct in Quesada in recent times have any comments, Positive or Negative, on moving a large amount of money back to the UK please. Many thanks in advance.

We have used currency direct and were very happy with the service

We have used them for over 10 years and they have been fine with us... but there are many others who will be recommended .... but we stick with what we know..

We used Currency Direct through the uk to one of their local branches in Spain when we purchased our property in La Finca, I was very pleased with them they talked me through how to use the site as I didn’t want to make a mistake with such a large amount of money. Not sure if it’s the same company as Currencies Direct? I now use them to top up my Spanish bank account when necessary. Would recommend.

if in doubt on how to use a site where money is concerned just firstly send a small value. Make sure you are safe.

Then the bigger transfer

I've been transferring money from the UK on a DD with Currencies Direct for 8 years and I have never had any problem at all.

I have used them in the past to transfer money into my Spanish account from the U.K. but now my mortgage has been paid off and I spend more time here I find I get a better rate by going to to the ATM at Santander, I have an 123 account in the U.K. so get the commercial rate and no fees and then just put it into my Spanish account.

I've used Currency Direct myself but there are other options that can mean a large difference in currency rates.

I now use Transferwise or OFX both give better rates.

I have just transferred a large sum of money and the best company was TransferWise. Currency direct gives you not so good exchange rates and with large sums you loose money using them.

PagoFX is exellent ..Its a app from santander ...download the app ..they will approve your details ...and then allows you to transfer money from any account via your debit card.
The rates at the moment are commercial rates and takes 24hrs to be transfered.
