Direct debit from our community administrators

Direct debit from our community administrators

Postby blackvelvet » Wed May 21, 2014 5:24 am

We have received a letter and a blank direct debit from our community administrators.
It says we have to complete, sign and return quickly, due to new banking act.

I have looked on internet but unable to find information on this, just wondered if anyone
else has been asked to do this?

Also wondering about our other direct debits, will we have yo redo those too.

I have emailed them for explanation and await response

Anyone any ideas in the meantime?

Have heard back doesn't affect exsisting direct debits, it's because out first community payment was due to come out after the new banking act, so we have to sign another, all our others have been coming out ok. Havnt got a clue really still what the act is!

On a slightly different tack - our administrators hold many thousands of Euros yet we pay banking charges because they don't appear to reap any kind of interest; I raised this at a meeting and was told "that's how it is in Spain"!
I have no experience here but that cant be true, I am just changing banks for various reasons so I would like some feedback on this one.

I am just a 'tourist' at the moment!

Cant help you much but will be interested in your other replys. We also pay bank charges of approx 80 euros per year on our account which has rent coming in and direct debits going out. A bit steep if you ask me. I wonder if the same charges apply on a basic savings account where the bank dont have to do anything like pay direct debits. Stu.
