info needed to open bank account

Hi can anyone please tell me what i need to open a bank account. I have internet going in this week and they need my imei number , but nit sure if i have one with my normal english lloyds bank account?? I dont have my nie number just yet but im sure when i lived in murcia yrs ago i opened an account without this. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance. Carol

We opened our bank account without our NIE number, but we were applying for it, as we were purchasing a house.
So opening account shouldn't be a problem as long as you let them have the info in due course.
Not sure though if you will be able to purchase internet.
I know to purchase a car you have to have the NIE, and when we bought a TV they asked us for our NIE
I am sure that you will get lots of info on this from other members. I certainly don't know enough about this sort of thing. There are other members who will help.

Thanks. Yes i went to bank yest and they said i didnt need one. We are having our internet installed this week with our tenancy agreement and passports. Will be all getting our nies very shortly anyway. Thanks for the reply.

I opened an account with Santander (Spain) with just my passport, a recent pay slip and. Hundred Euro deposit. It was all done in the bank within 45 minutes which included registering and setting up my online bank account. ( I needed my mobile phone in order to receive a one time pass code to activate the online account). The account us free as long as I pay 600 euros a month in to it and keep a min of 600 in it.

On the Internet side of things, I have arranged that with Telecable via email and they will have the existing connection activated for me arriving at the new rental property in April. All they needed wax the IBAN number from my new bank account to do this. Once I arrive in Quesada they said to pop in to their office and sign the forms.

So far all easy peasy.

I have been down this morning and opened one with sabitell. I have a non residential one till i get my papers but its all i need for now to pay my bills. I get a debit card
With it too so happy days. Must say it was easier than i thought.
