Mortgage refund

Mortgage refund

Postby sally/rob » Thu Jul 28, 2016 8:27 pm

We have just been told that we are entitled to a mortgage refund due to an irregularity with the bank adding on interest ! I am assuming it's a Bit like the British ppi reclaim! However, we have been asked to provide the last eleven years bank statements and or interest mortgage documents and we don't have them due to having an online account with sabadell to reduce paperwork!! Any tips or advice please?

Your bank should be able to supply you with copies although they will charge you. Alternatively you should receive annual mortgage statements.

Hi, what you need is mortgage deeds from your bank, we got our mortgage deeds from BBVA and they didn't charge us.

Good luck

Thanks is that all I need? We have a copy of them and have given them to the solicitor, that's how we know that we are entitled to a refund, but the bank asked lots of questions about why we wanted them, so I anticipate a problem if I ask for mortgage statements and bank statements for the last 11 years! This is what the solicitor has asked for.

Thanks for all your suggestions , online banking only
Goes back two years! I will try the bank but was wondering if anyone else has been through or are going through this process. I got the impression when I asked for a copy of the deeds that they wouldn't be helpful.

You should just ask the bank for a refund they have a process for dealing with that you really do not need a solicitor or someone else to do it have been instructed that they are in the wrong and must refund but the will only do it if you ask them
