Recommendations for Spanish banks please?
Recommendations for Spanish banks please?
by Jan » Sat Sep 05, 2015 11:05 am
Hi,
I have started this topic as Diane D has asked on another topic for recommendations for Spanish banks.
Also we have lots of different topics mentioning banks that our members use and recommend but not a specific topic that may help others wanting to know the same thing.
Thanks for any answers.
Jan

Both my personal and business accounts are held at La Caixa at the Quesada arches (which used to be Barclays Bank).
Several reasons for my choice, including one of the best online banking systems, but without doubt the staff, led by the manager Sven and assistant Manuela, have proven time and time again that they are very customer focused. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Solbank also used to be great, but a few years ago they merged with Cambank and after that it was never the same. Still, the assistant manager Silvia does her best and is very helpful.
Others no doubt will have other recommendations but this is just my personal experience, shared by many people I know.

I am with Sabadell in Quesada and are happy with them. The service is friendly and helpful and they speak reasonable English. The website is good and the online banking works well and is easy to navigate.
Charges appear to be as good as any Spanish bank and not as high as some. They definitely do not overcharge or charge for every little thing, like one bank we used 10 years ago (unnamed because all business's can improve!).
They also have good communication when we have needed to contact from the UK.
I would recommend Sabadell.

We too bank with Sabadell in Que Sada and have done for 11 years and are very impressed with the service we receive and must admit Silvia is excellent and speaks very good English, we have always found all the staff helpful and friendly. Really glad we bank with them as have heard a few bad reports about other banks in the area.
