Recommended Fiscal Advisor - Rojales / Benijofar

Recommended Fiscal Advisor - Rojales / Benijofar

Postby DEK » Sun Oct 13, 2019 12:02 pm

Hi can anyone recommend an English speaking Fiscal Advisor in Rojales or Benijofar, as I need to transfer from my current Financial Advisor who is based in Pilar de la Horadada, which is a bit of a trek.

Thanks

Actually, on that, any recommendations from experience on people who know both the UK and Spanish tax systems who can assist with the initial Spanish tax filing process ( it's the switch over between systems that concerns me.)

I have a fiscal rep who was doing the non resident tax return for me ( all fine, no complaints) but am not totally confident that they would be up to speed with a more complex return situation ( will soon need to sort out the 'handover' in terms of primary tax residency but also will need to keep doing tax returns in both countries due to personal situation.) It's not THAT complicated a situation but I am concerned to get the 'changeover' right and paying the right stuff in the right country.

Not looking for investment advice (Seagate or Blevins are more into that; also preliminary discussions earlier this year with Blevins convinced me that their fees are very high and more aimed at very complex tax situations. In my case I reckoned I would be paying far more fees to them than any tax I might save as a result of using them. - I don't mind paying appropriate professional fees, of course they are required, but only if the service is appropriate to what you need. ) I have seen ABACO Advisers mentioned on the forum several times - can anyone give feedback on them for tax assessments and are there any others that people might recommend? Also would prefer not to have to trail into Torrievieja if at all possible given that I don't fancy driving around the town's busy narrow streets and the public transport to Torrievieja is somewhat limited... so more local/easy to driver to if at all possible( Benijofar/Rojales/Quesada/La Marina etc ).

Shiva, did you speak with Blevins Franks or Manuel at TACS4EXPATS, they work out of the same offices & Manuel has been looking after us very efficiently for several years now. I would agree he may not be the cheapest but his fees, to us anyway, aren't excessive & he has no doubt saved us a tidy sum on taxes etc over the years. Sometimes the saying "pay peanuts get monkeys" can be true & i would much rather pay a little extra in the knowledge that i am being advised correctly, especially in this minefield of a country when it comes to taxes etc.
Just my view,
Dave.
