Hamilton's Bake House
Hamilton's Bake House

We've just found this bakery in Benijofar. What a great place to indulge yourself. The bread is good and the cakes are to die for. We stopped for a coffee and a cake as well, the doughnuts were crammed with jam and were the best we've had in 10 years, as good as Kosoff's. The shop is right on the edge of Benijofar. If you're coming from Quesada, turn left at the cobbles and it's the last shop on the right hand side before you get to the waste ground.

There is also a very good Belgium bakery in Quesada opposite the tobacconist. They open early at 7 am which is great for buying fresh bread and rolls for breakfast. Their sausage rolls are also excellent.

Are they also a Café, as we've seen people sitting outside there and looks like they are having coffee and cake, which seems very popular with the German and Netherlands nationalities but we have only been passing by?

Do Hamilton's bake english bread? I do miss a freshly baked loaf of bread The Spanish bread is lovely but can't beat a freshly baked bloomer!

I went there earlier this year - as part of a group. Very nice, but the IVA was not listed on the menu that we were given - maybe they have altered the system since - but it could come as a bit of a shock to the unwary!!;)

Yes Lindyloo. We bought a bloomer €1.80, still warm and it was delicious and it was still edible the following day (not that there was much left) Unlike Spanish bread that you could use as a weapon the day after! Also bought rolls which were great. 3 for a euro.

Hamiltons also do superb hot meat pies as well as egg or bacon buns to die for. Try the home made soups they are great. We are working our way along the "stickies" shelf & not found anything that wasn't wonderful! The tin loaves, along with the bloomers, & tiger loaves are wonderful. Take a tip from me try the scones with lashings of jam & cream, scrummy!!
All I want for Christmas is a larger pair of trousers!!
