Seems a reasonable deal Mike, hope it all goes well.

I wouldn't know what to believe in Spain, as you hear so many 'stories'. Did you check the rumours that allegedly Sky is pulling out of Spain soon...probably a load of hype yet again (to sell other TV systems) but worth checking?!

Hi, I like others am interested in the Airbox Lite and any feedback registered by a member of the Quesada Talk forum who is actually using the Airbox Lite system.

As an alternative a colleague of mine who like me, lives between Spain and the UK and has a UK Contract with SKY TV recommended me the 'Slingbox', which device he uses when in Gran Alicant and here in Singapore where we both work periodically.
I would say that this device looks only to be useful to anyone who has a UK SKY or similar home country contract however.

Find the WIKIPEDIA definition posted below.

The Slingbox is a TV streaming media device made by Sling Media that encodes video into the VC-1 format for transmission over the Internet and provides an infrared blaster. The video encoding and IR blaster can both be operated remotely over the Internet. These features allow users to remotely view and control their home's cable, satellite, or personal video recorder (PVR) system from an Internet-enabled computer with a broadband Internet connection.

If you simply Google Search on the word 'SLINGBOX' or use the link, http://slingbox.com for full information and explanation. There is an easywatch and understand sales video which explains the Slingbox system in 'Lay Mans Terms' at slingbox.com.

Happy Corrie, Eastenders, X-Factor, Strictly and Sky Sports TV to all. :)

Hi Johnga,
Thanks for the information.
We were seriously interested in the Slingbox, at one time, as we have the BT vision subscribed service in the UK but there is a drawback if, like us, you have family still wanting to access the TV system in the home where the TV service is being streamed from. As I understand it, the Slingbox works like a remote control on the TV system back home and therefore only the channel / programmes being streamed can be watched through the Slingbox and on the system back home at the same time.

However, it seems ideal to use going back and forth from the UK when there isn't anybody who may want to watch the subscribed TV service back home at the same time. I don't think my adult children would be very happy being told that the subscribed TV is off-limits while we are away or they have to watch what we are watching instead of those humiliating reality shows that their age group seem to be obsessed with!! ;) ;)

Just a thought, with a dish you can run several boxes via LNB, how many televisions can be used from one of these boxes without loads of wires. ? :?: :?:

Just been informed you can only run 1 television from 1 box, if that is true then its not for me.

Yes Mike, I expect that is correct as most 'boxes', with the present technology, can only run one TV at a time. I enquired about this once for my BT vision (not sure if it's the same with Sky) as I always seem to want to watch different programmes to my hubby and family who are sports mad and I never get the chance to watch any of the multitude of films & box sets that we have on our BT system. However, I was told unless I want to watch exactly the same as that being played on the main box, which can be done with link wiring somehow, then there is no way to do it.
BT keep saying that a way of watching from the vision box on another TV in the house is in the pipeline stage and should be with us soon. I ended up getting a hard-drive recorder and recording everything I want to see for myself and connecting my laptop to my TV when I want to watch 'catch-up TV', so I always have decent programmes to watch when the family are watching sport.

Jan movies and sport it works 100% perfectly the guy I know has 4 megs BB and it works perfectly. On soaps there is at times a momentarily stall in the programme of some nano seconds. So not too good to be true, in fact reality. Mike
