Anyone recommend an internet provider in Buena Vista VIII?

Anyone recommend an internet provider in Buena Vista VIII?

Postby Lisa Withers » Sun Apr 12, 2015 9:57 am

Hi, we are UK based but visit our apartment around 6 times a year. We would really like to try and get internet installed but as we are not there enough to really justify a high monthly cost or be able to maintain some if the data SIM cards that require regular use to stay active, we would like an economical solution. We have tried mifi with limited success as the only provider with a decent signal up here is vodafone, maybe a monthly contract vodafone sim from Careafour maybe the best way, not sure if months of inactivity will stop it from working?
Also there is always the worry of data limits especially on mobile sims.

Our neighbour has tried a couple of satellite providers but seems even with height a signal cannot be found that is workable.
Is there a landline option up here, I'm not even sure there is any infrastructure, there are sockets in the walls but these may have no wires behind?
Over in a couple of weeks, will check with all the residents but any pearls of wisdom would be most welcome.
Thank you

Avoid Vodaphone like the plague ! Buena Vista is where all my problems started Because of all the mountains around the vodaphone signal is rubbish read previous post !! The best value full time internet is Telecable in Santa Pola It cost us 50 euros to set up and the monthly charge is just 15 euros ......Here is the best bit when you are not here they charge just 7-50 a month and the signal never ever goes Brilliant company

Hi

We have just returned from that area.

Had a great time.

I took a three.co.uk sim data card PAYG not a sim phone card and bought a mifi from Media Mart in La Zenia Boulevard. Worked well for emails, Google search, Facebook, flight check in with Ryanair but not for videos or YouTube etc.

You can buy mifi 3G 69€ or 4G 149 € - I paid extra and got 4G Netgear AirCard, allows 10 devices to connect, has a screen and advises when connected, signal etc and three.co.uk no longer charge roaming fees. Also, I bought it home with me so I can also you use it on my travels else where.
