Broken TDT remote control

Broken TDT remote control

Postby Jan » Sat Sep 17, 2016 5:00 pm

Hi
Wonder if anyone can advise with this - Our neighbour has a TDT box for Spanish TV and it also changes language to English when there are UK or American shows/films on. We have one of these too but our neighbour has dropped her remote and broken it. I thought she could get a replacement remote but this is proving difficult or even a new TDT box as they are pretty cheap. However she is concerned that if she buys a new box that it won't have the changeability for language as we bought our TDT boxes a good few years back -The theory being that most TV's have digital inside them nowadays.
Can anyone help?

Thanks.

I haven't seen any TDT players without the dual language setting. Even one I bought for a portable TV about 6 years ago has it and it only cost 15 euro then.

We bought ours more than 6 years ago too and it was dual language but we were wondering if they still make them like that now, as they are usually inside the Tv's these days?

Looking at the picture on the Media Markt site (and expanding it) yes, it does have an audio/lang button.
I even have an old freeview box from UK which is about 12 years old and that has the same button on it. Never used it in UK, of course. Just keeping it in case the one for the portable breaks.

may prove difficult locating the right remote control for an old Spanish TDT box.

Any TV less than 5-6 years old will have an inbuilt digital TDT tuner, which you can switch audio language. If dealing with an older TV, any external TDT box, will have option to change audio / language settings.
