Caution with the new iphone 6

Apart from the usual stellar sales from the 'Apple fanboy / girls' there has been a couple of things those considering purchasing need to be aware of.

Microwave charging scam. Believe it or not there is a widespread rumour that you can recharge your iphone by placing it in the microwave for 30 seconds! Not sure who is daft enough to believe this, though judging by youtube a few of our American friends seem to have fallen for this. Don't do it!

Battery life - iphones have always struggled with battery life, especially when using their many features, Both new models 6 & 6+ only offer a very minor improvement over previous model 5S. If looking for a smartphone with a good battery life, Sony seems to have it in the bag with the new Z3 launched in a couple of weeks. Early tests have shown this has nearly double the battery of the iphone. Sony claim 2 days battery on average use, double that of most smartphones.

Bent iphone! A number of users have noticed screen distortion, when putting iphone flat on surface have noticed it is bent. This is due to the very slim profile of the phone & aluminium construction, it would appear if you put the phone in a tight pocket, that by the end of the day - you will have a damaged phone. Bit worrying durability wise - though of course if not putting in your tight jeans . pockets, will not be an issue.
