Computer Hardware Repair

I totally agree that Win10 is the best way to go.
Mainstream support for Win7 SP1 ended over three years ago, and although they’ll continue to do security releases for the next 18 months (assuming that you allow the updates to be installed of course) the product is very dated.
Bite the bullet and go for a clean Win10 install, keep it up to date and if necessary get some help with ironing out any minor annoyances. You won’t regret it in the long run.
Pete.

I am still on Windows 7 as I did not like the way that Win. 10 operated. I believe that you should be able to uninstall fixes that have been applied. so you could try that and work backwards until your problem is resolved.
I am not sure where La Laguna is or which shop you have tried but as well as Quesada Computers there is a mobile phone and computer repair shop near Gama at Dona Pepa.

Another thought.
As I have said I still have Windows 7 on my machine and the last updates were 17/8/16.
I still receive updates for Microsoft security essentials, some this month, and my machine is OK.
I would not assume that that is your problem.
PS. I have since realised that there were two seperate problems reported on this post by different people.
I have therefore altered my original post.
It is always best to start your own post especially if it is a different subject.

To Wobblypete,
There are things you can do yourself to try and clean up any problems.
You have disc cleanup on your task bar which you can run to clear out temporary files etc which can free up 10's of MB's of disc space.
There are two stages to this, the first for user data and the second for some system temp files.
You can go into Microsoft Security essentials and run a scan to find any viruses .
You can download the free version of Malware bytes which will scan your machine looking for corrupted files which you can then put into quarantine.
You have not said what your problem is but if you are having problems with using some websites it could be that you machine is not big and fast enough. If your machine is very slow when going into websites with long pages such as this one, holidays, car rentals. and villa rentals that may be your problem,
