We have been looking at TV's recently and generally the new TV's are more expensive in Spain. I was pricing them up last year and was quite shocked at the prices in Spain compared to the UK, when 'shopping around'.

I have even measured my cabin size case to see if I could fit one in but even a 22" wouldn't fit and I wouldn't really trust putting one through with the Hold luggage, even in it's original packing.

Over the last few years I have always said it's best to buy most things local in Spain but I paid just £119 for a 24" LG flat screen for my kitchen at Christmas in the UK and, from what I saw when in Spain, that size was almost twice that price. So it does seem worth bringing one over if possible, if you want to buy new.

Saying that, there are auctions and often adverts for second hand TV's (some on this forum at times). So right place, right time, and you may get one that way. We haven't been lucky enough to be in Spain when one is advertised but we are still looking and hoping one will come up when we are there.

Hi we brought one over but if you don't mind waiting and shopping around you can get some good deals when the offers are on, although more expensive it will save you the worry of will it get here unbroken! also with the exchange rate being good prices are better. :) and yes auctions do sell them but personally I would buy new or you may find someone selling one on TQ

I don't know where you've been looking but I can't see TVs here being twice as much as UK. Carrefour has 22 and 24 inch LED TVs for €149 (£111) and even 28 inch ones for €169 (£126).
Media Markt and AlCampo have them at similar prices. We bought a Sony 46in Smart TV last year, when the exchange rate wasn't so favourable, and it was several hundred pounds cheaper than Currys in UK had it for. Even Amazon Spain has a 22 in LG LED TV for €150 (again, £111).
If you bring one from UK, what happens if it goes wrong? Bit awkward to take it back to the shop and get it repaired/replaced.

I have probably been looking in the wrong places then, mostly local to Quesada, but when I looked last year I couldn't see anything comparable to the UK (make & price) but I will take up the challenge  and see what I can find at those places you mention above next time we are in Spain.

It was last Summer we looked around and there weren't any decent deals on then and when I compared to the on-line prices in the UK they did seem more expensive.

Media Mrkt Elche / Zenia boulevard also carry all the models. I have a sneaking suspicion that prices may be a little keener in the Spanish areas rather than usual expat haunts. I've always found media mrkt Elche pretty good. Sometime the smaller retailers such as Tiene 21 offer some good deals, but noticed they have a habit of sneaking in discontinued or older models - so worth checking.

I wouldn't by a 2nd hand TV from an auction - sold as seen & unless you can see working would tread cautiously. I've also seen TV's that work for half an hour before they turn themselves off....Better possibly if wanting second hand TV, to post up a wanted ad in the for buy / sell section on this forum...

Here's one that was posted up earlier this week.
