Electrical Stores to buy TV / Laptop

Postby Jon Stead » Sat Mar 29, 2014 8:08 am

Are there any electrical outlet shops like, Dixons, Currys, PC World in the area where I could buy a TV or a laptop?

If so which is cheapest and where is it? Thanks

Hi Jon,
There is a shop called Miro in the Habaneras shopping centre, near Carrefour, on the way to Torrevieja. Don't know anything about them or how competitive they are price-wise but may be worth a look if you are around there.
Carrefour itself has a large TV and computer department too and their prices are generally good.
There are no doubt smaller outlets around that others may know about.

Jan.

Media Markt in Zenia Boulevard is the nearest to a PC World. Look out for their "ITV" free days which gives you 21% off everything.
Whilst at Zenia Boulevard, AlCampo supermarket also has a large selection of TVs and computers.
Bear in mind that if you are buying a computer over here, the keyboard and operating language will be Spanish. Whilst you can change the language, the keyboard is a bit more difficult with the n tilde and @ sign and others being in the wrong place. I think you have to press Alt Gr 2 to get the @ and if you press where the @ sign should be you get a " symbol. The colon/semi colon key gives you n tilde and there's also an upside down ? in there somewhere.
There is a shop in Torrevieja called the IT place and another called the PC shop which provides English keyboard and operating systems. Personally, I would buy the laptop from somewhere like Amazon.

I found the best prices to be on line, for TVs and anything electrical I use redcoon.es. I have bought my top of the range Sony TV from them, half UK price of the Sony shop and I bought recently a Bosch fridge/freezer from them, 699 reduced on special offer to 399. Plus 20 euro for Saura delivery, takes about 3 or 4 days. Laptop you should try Pixmania in Spain, English software and keyboard, I bought my Asus netbook from them some 40 pounds or so cheaper than Amazon. Once again like Amazon about 20 Euro for courier delivery. Mike
