What is a VPN and how do you get one please? Not very techie minded lol!!

Virtual Private Network. When you put your computer on normally, it leaves a signature / address which shows where you are. In this instance, Spain. Certain websites, such as bbc iplayer have 'geographical blocking' - as soon as you go to the website, they identify your computer as being outside of the UK and you get a 'not available in this country' type of message.

VPN allows you in affect to reroute the traffic though a 3rd party and different location. If I choose a VPN provider in the UK, it appears to websites, that my computer is in the UK, therefore opening up these type of applications overseas.

There are free VPN's such as Hola unblocker and their are paid ones. In the main the paid ones drag less speed and so not contain adverts or possibly viruses. There are many companies that offer this, here is one example http://www.strongvpn.com

Oh by the way I some times down load it onto my iPad and then push it to the TV by way of my Apple TV box then no need to watch it on a PC,laptop or tablet.
